Three church ministers returning from lunch are credited with rescuing a woman from a house fire in southwestern Illinois. Lindsay Vollmar is children's minister for St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville. She was returning to work Thursday with her husband Matt and associate pastor Andy Black. They spotted smoke coming from a home in the Signal Hill Fire District. Fire Chief Tom Elliff tells the Belleville News-Democrat that the call came about 2:30 p.m. A phone call distracted the woman from cooking on the stove. Lindsay Vollmar opened the front door to a cloud of smoke. Matt Vollmar is the church's contemporary worship leader. He and Black went in the house when they heard a woman call for help. They found the woman and helped her to safety.
