The Peoria Fire Department announced Monday it has been awarded a $925 grant from the Illinois American Water Company. The grant will be awarded at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Conference Room at the Central Fire Station in Peoria. It will be used to purchase hybrid forcible entry tools known as a Denver Tools, or TNT Tools. The tools will be placed on our fire suppression apparatus and used for both fire and rescue calls. "The Peoria Fire Department greatly appreciates the Illinois American Water Company’s efforts to support local fire departments," it said in a statement.
