Negotiations between the Oneida-Wataga Fire Protection District Board and the Altona Fire Protection District to possibly keep using the Altona-Oneida-Wataga Ambulance Service continue. That was the word from trustees at Tuesday night’s O-W fire board meeting in Wataga. Those negotiations between the two fire districts that provide the funding for the volunteer AOW service were first revealed at last week’s AOW board meeting. The AOW board is made up of the membership of the two fire district boards. O-W provides two-thirds of the funding for AOW while the remaining third comes from Altona fire. O-W fire board President Paul Swanson said Tuesday night those conversations began “a couple weeks ago” and led to “a pretty good discussion.”
