A firefighter was awarded Tuesday morning for his heroic actions while off-duty.
Back in September, Timothy Schlomann was driving in Lexington when he noticed a car behind him swerving in the road.
The car passed him and when they came to a red light, Schlomann got out and walked up to the car.
The driver was having a diabetic emergency, so Schlomann took the keys out and called for help.
"My worst fear was, if I hadn't done anything, was obviously, one, to get him off the road so he wouldn't hurt himself, but others too on the road," Schlomann said.
