Stanton's fire chief says in the past several months, several people died of cardiac arrest before an ambulance could get there. So the chief asked county leaders on Tuesday evening to allow the fire department to respond to those calls, as well, when an ambulance is not available. An attorney representing a family that is considering a lawsuit provided to WKYT a recording of a 911 call in which the dispatcher said no ambulances were available in the county at the time.
