Local firefighters paid tribute to their fallen comrades Tuesday morning. The firefighters placed a wreath next to the Firefighters Memorial at Jefferson Square, which bears the names of 82 Louisville firefighters. The newest name, Joe Johnson, was added Monday. The retired colonel with the McMahan Fire Department died from a rare form of soft tissue cancer in 2016. "Each one of those heroes died doing what they loved," McMahan Fire Department Chief Pat Walsh said.
