A vehicle fire near the intersection of Cherry Blossom Way and East U.S. 62 slowed traffic in the right-hand lane for about 30 minutes on Tuesday. Firefighters from both the Georgetown and Scott County fire departments responded to the call at about 1:15 p.m., finding a black Mustang in the middle of the road across the highway from the Toyota plant Gate 6. The driver and occupants successfully fled to safety, but the car sustained severe fire damage. No one was injured in the incident, according to GPD Assistant Chief Eric Colson.
