City Commissioner Kelly Ashley said he was concerned with the possibility of a train blocking emergency vehicles.
"What if there is an emergency and the vehicles can't get to the other side of the track, where the house is located?" he asked. "Some of those houses, if they go up, and the department can't respond, it's gone."
Maysville Fire Chief Kevin Doyle said he is not concerned, because he is confident the deparment can respond.
"When we respond to a fire, or an emergency, we always take into consideration that a train could be blocking the area," he said.
