Hopkinsville City Council is moving forward with the purchase of a new fire truck as well as recognizing eight new firefighters. Tuesday night, Council members approved the second reading of the Capital Budget amendment. Mayor Carter Hendricks says the $250,000 will be put to good use.
At the meeting, the new recruits were sworn in. James Pepper, Chris Marlar, Nathan Miller, Collin Champion, Christopher Barton, Trenton Embry, Daniel Skinner, and Will Hammond all took the oath of office and were pinned by family members.
