Owensboro, Daviess County emergency services receive grants

The Owensboro Police Department, the Owensboro Fire Department and Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch will be getting new emergency response equipment due to grants from the state Office of Homeland Security. Seventy-seven counties in Kentucky will receive $2.869 million in funding for emergency equipment, improved communications and critical infrastructure projects through the grants. The funds come from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and are awarded through a competitive process.
