As if responding to a crash weren't enough, one first responder in Madison County decided to go above and beyond. According to a post by KSP's Robert Purdy, he came upon the crash scene in Richmond. Richmond Fire and Richmond Police were responding. At the scene, a first responder talked to one of the individuals who expressed that he was concerned that the groceries in his trunk were going to go bad. He tried to call his wife unsuccessfully and at that point, one of the firefighters loaded the man's food into the trunk of his car to deliver them while the man was checked out for injuries Trooper Purdy pointed out that while he occasionally likes to poke fun at his friends, he had to give them props for the selfless action.
