Fighting fires may have just gotten a little easier for firefighters in Bowling Green. The city's firefighters will soon have some new equipment to protect themselves. At Tuesday afternoon's city commission meeting, commissioners approved just over $106,000 for new structural firefighting turnout gear. Turnout gear includes coats and pants for firefighters. The department is expected to purchase nearly 40 sets of gear. The clothing is coming from 911 Fleet and Fire Equipment of Florence, Kentucky.
