The 29 members of Grapevine Volunteer Fire Department gathered at the station this evening in anticipation of receiving its first brand new fire truck in 33 years.
The $265,726 hi-tech firefighting machine was obtained through a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant written by John Dunning of Madisonville Fire Department, who also celebrated with GVFD members today.
Charlie Chapman of All American Fire dealership drove the engine down from Ohio, saying he needed a ride back.
Hopkins County Fiscal Court provided $5,000 toward the purchase and the department finished the match with $13,993.
