A woman escaped a house fire early Friday morning in Powell County. The fire started around 12:30 on Winchester Road near the Clark County line. The woman living in the home said she heard crackling and thought someone was in her home. When she opened her bedroom door she saw smoke. She was able to grab her phone and call for help on her way out. Family members told WKYT the home has had several electrical problems.
