Area religious leaders presented gift cards to city police, firefighters and county deputies today at Madisonville Fire Department Station 1.
Members of First Christian and First Cumberland Presbyterian churches in Madisonville worked together for the second year to express gratitude for local public servants by providing a coffee gift card for each member of MFD, Madisonville Police Department and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Though a small gesture, it brought big smiles to the faces of those, that at times, work in dangerous situations.
“We were very pleased to receive the gifts," MFD Fire Chief Ray Wyatt said. “We thought it was very generous of them, and it makes you feel good they remember first responders. We feel blessed to have people like these in our community.”
