Grayson County residents and businesses have opened their purse strings this Christmas season to help the less fortunate children in the community enjoy a memorable holiday season. Between the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Shop with a Cop program, the Clarkson Police Department sponsored HoHo with the PoPo and the Leitchfield Fire Department’s Shop with a Firefighter, Grayson County responded with over $22,600 in donations to support these worthwhile causes. Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins said, “This is what Christmas is all about,” as his efforts, along with his staff, helped raise over $15,000 for Shop with a Cop. The money was used by Grayson County deputies, Leitchfield PD officers, Grayson County Detention Center staff, and Kentucky State Police Troopers to shop for over 100 children who otherwise may not have experienced a joyful holiday season.
