A fire broke out early Thursday morning on Arnold Lane in Bloomfield, just a few hundred yards from Bloomfield Elementary and Middle schools.
Groomfield, a pet grooming salon, and Bloomfield Electronics both burned to the ground. The building was fully engulfed by the time fire agencies were dispatched and Northeast Nelson Fire Protection District, Nelson County Fire and Rescue, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Fire Marshal Chris Crawford responded.
Normal school traffic of parents dropping off students was disrupted, and fire personnel rerouted the traffic along Faith Avenue behind the Bloomfield branch of the Nelson County Public Library.
