One person was injured following a gas flare-up fire at an oil and gas drilling site in Martha, KY this afternoon. According to Lawrence County Emergency Management, it happened on Long Branch Road around 3:45 P.M. The fire was reportedly extinguished when crews made it to the scene. The scene was determined to be secure with no oil or gas leaks. E-911 says that one man was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital after receiving "significant burns to his face." The cause of the fire is under investigation by the The Kentucky Fire Marshal’s Office and the Kentucky Division of Oil and Gas.
