Lexington firefighters worked to knock down flames at a home on Winding Oak Trail Sunday evening. Reportedly a neighbor alerted the family when they saw smoke coming from the house. We're told the fire started in the chimney and spread to the attic. Firefighters say they were able to contain the damage and save the home. Sunday evening several fire trucks were still on scene checking for hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
