A woman walked into Elizabethtown police headquarters Tuesday afternoon and confessed to starting a recent fire in Radcliff, according to an arrest citation.
Victoria Williams, 49, told police she started a fire in a bedroom of an apartment Feb. 8 on Wood Creek Drive.
She told authorities she started the fire with a lighter and burned her bed because she wanted to “get away” and admitted she had no other place to go.
When the fire department arrived, there was a working structure fire and the apartment where Williams lived was full of smoke. There were no injuries.
Williams is facing a charge of first-degree arson.
