The Lexington Fire Department had an amazing update to share concerning their drive to fund free smoke detectors. An anonymous donor has given the fire department $10,000 toward their free smoke alarm program. Three out of five fire deaths across the nation happen in homes without working smoke alarms. Each alarm is $14 and the fire department places an average of four in every home they visit. You can donate online through the fraternal order of firefighters, or by mailing in a check.
