Several people were displaced Wednesday after an early morning fire. Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 3800 block of South Brook Street around 3 a.m. A neighbor said the fire may have started from a lit cigarette left on a couch on the porch. The fire engulfed the home and burned the homes next to it, investigators said. No major injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
