A family was unable to sleep in their home Wednesday night after a fire. Firefighters say the flames broke out just after midnight in a detached garage on Mark Avenue. It was fully engulfed when crews arrived to the scene. The fire spread to the home's attic, also leaving some damage in the kitchen and living room due to a hole they had to make in order to battle the flames. Two adults and two children were inside at the time, but safely got out. The garage is a total loss. The Red Cross was alerted in order to help the family find a place to stay. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
