A family of seven was displaced Friday night when a duplex caught fire, according to the Lexington Fire Department. Investigators say the fire started in the vacant side of a duplex in the 200 block of Simba Way just before 9:00 p.m. Firefighters say the fire appears to have started on the second floor and spread into the attic and through the floor and wall into the occupied duplex on the other side, displacing the family. There was moderate-to-severe damage to the duplex, according to firefighters.
