The Glasgow Fire Department welcomed three new firefighters. Mayor Dick Doty swore in Bryant Blodgett, James Edge and Todd Napier at last night’s council meeting.
Wearing it around their waist, the rope is one of the first pieces of equipment given to rookies. This has been a long held tradition at the Glasgow Fire Department. Training requirements for firefighters include not only the ability to tie a secure knot, but also to know what know will be the safest and most secure for any situation. While in training, anyone at anytime and anywhere can ask the rookies to tie a certain knot and then the pressure is on.
