Tuesday marked two years since one of the biggest fires the city has ever seen.
The Bluegrass Stockyards, previously located off Forbes Road, burned down Jan. 30, 2016. A total of 10 acres was destroyed during the three-alarm fire.
In September 2016, work began on a new building, this time off Ironworks Pike. It opened almost one year later to the very day.
The new facility not only has cattle sales, but a separate 20-business marketplace and classrooms for future farmers.
