The Junction City Fire Department responded to a house fire at 2:46 a.m. Sunday at 172 East Ila Avenue. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a one-story home with heavy smoke coming from the roof and flames coming out from the side door. All residents were able to get out safely. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The house sustained heavy smoke damage throughout and fire damage in the kitchen. Crews were on scene until 6 a.m. checking for any remaining hot spots. It is not thought to be suspicious.
