The Cave City Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire 720 Jenny Road at 4:05 p.m. Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, they found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. "About 90% of it was collapsed. The back part of the house -- the end of the trailer -- it was still standing but it was unable for us to make entry to go in because there was so much fire," said Kevin Poynter, Cave City Fire Department's battalion chief.
After about 15 minutes of working to control the blaze, firefighters were able to get close enough to the house to start looking for any victims.
"In the extinguishing phase of the fire, still had a lot of active fire, and we found a victim laying on the floor approximately about 5, 5 or 6 feet away from the front door," Poynter said.
