Fire crews worked to put out flames at a home on Algonquin Parkway. The fire was reported in the 900 block of Algonquin Parkway at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to Louisville Fire & Rescue Capt. Salvador Melendez. When fire crews arrived, they saw light smoke coming from the eaves of the home and found fire in the basement. It took 22 firefighters seven minutes to put out the flames. One person was inside the home when the fire started. That person was able to get out safely and no injuries were reported. Melendez said there was no significant damage to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Melendez said it appeared to be electrical.
