Several fire departments responded to a house fire on Saturday, May 12 around 5 p.m. on South L&N Turnpike near Magnolia. Magnolia Fire Chief Kevin Shoemaker said the house suffered severe damage but the cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Shoemaker said no one was in the house at the time of the fire; the family who lived in the home was reportedly in the process of moving out. Magnolia Fire Department was assisted by the LaRue County Fire Department, Buffalo Fire Department and Linwood Fire Department.
