In Marshall Counties first ever Veterans Day Parade, veterans and first responders marched down U.S. 68 to honor those who served our nation. One of those veterans was Michael Swinford proudly flying his home state flag to honor those from Mississippi who died in Vietnam, something he isn’t allowed to do in Paducah.
“It was an extreme honor to be in the inaugural parade, more importantly I got to fly the flag I’ve been wanting to carry for over a year,” says Swinford.
Swinford says he felt a need to recognize the men from Mississippi who died in Vietnam, because he could have just as easily been one of them.
