Firefighters battled a house fire in Madison County early Wednesday morning. According to the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department, the fire broke out around 12 a.m. on Highway 421 just north of the Big Hill store. The department say crews had to use bolt cutters to get through a gate to get a truck close enough to the house to fight the fire. Firefighters say everyone got out of the house safe.
