Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire in a home off Darenia Lane Monday afternoon where they say a cat has died. Firefighters say the fire started around 7:35 p.m. Investigators are there trying to determine the cause of the fire. They say one person was in the home when the fire started, she made it out safely. Investigators say there is smoke and heat damage on the first floor and some smoke damage to the second floor.
