Multiple Firefighters Respond to Blaze in Dixon

Multiple fire agencies are assisting Poole and Dixon volunteer firefighters to battle a blaze at the 3000 block of U.S. 41-A in Dixon. At 6 p.m., flames could be seen shooting from the top of the roof. The structure appears to be a large, metal commercial building known as Barns and Blooms. It is unknown what caused the fire. Henderson County’s Corydon Civil Defense Fire Department has moved some of their equipment and manpower to stage at Poole Volunteer Fire Department to offer coverage in the Dixon area. Sebree, Wheatcroft and Corydon Volunteer Fire departments are offering assistance. Clay Volunteer Firefighters were also dispatched to the scene at 6:15 p.m. One firefighter was said to have been placed in an ambulance due to overheating.
