Can the pizza man find your address? That’s the question one local fire department is asking, because if he can’t, chances are first responders can’t either. That could cost you your life in an emergency.
Hendron volunteer firefighters are leading an effort to make sure they know where you live.
They’re looking for address markers that are larger and visible from a distance. They also want the markers to be reflective, so they can see it in the dark. That might not seem like much, but neighbors and firefighters say it can make the difference between lives saved and lives lost.
“We’ve had a number — I couldn’t tell you exactly how many — of times where the ambulances came, a few fire trucks, police officers,” Patrick Coughlin says.
