Lexington Fire crews say they battled an overnight house fire on Monticello Boulevard that killed two pets.
According to Lexington Fire crews, they arrived on scene at 1:48 a.m. and noticed heavy smoke coming from the rear, and right side of the home.
They say there were three children inside the home at the time, and were safely evacuated.
Firefighters say the parents that live there were at work when the fire ignited.
Crews say they were able to put the fire out in ten minutes.
According to Lexington Fire Battalion Chief Brad Whittaker, the home suffered a considerable amount of smoke and heat damage.
” Right now the house does have heavy damage throughout,’ said Whittaker. ” Both heat and smoke damage, there were two pets inside that also succumbed to the fire.”
