One family has lost a pet and their home after a late night fire on Wednesday in the Keene Crossing neighborhood in Nicholasville. Firefighters were dispatched to a duplex on Woodview Dr. just before midnight. They told FOX 56 two adults and a child was inside when the fire started. While they were all able to make it out of the home safely, one of their pets did not. A fire investigator got to the scene after midnight to looking into what started the fire. “Right now the cause of the fire is undetermined. The family was asleep at the time of the fire and they were woken up by the fire but there were no working smoke detectors so this is a very fortunate situation that they were able to escape without injury,” said Nicholasville Battalion Chief Johnny Adams.
