Lancaster building collapses with residents inside

PHOTOS: A two-story structure in Lancaster partially collapsed Thursday morning, with two residents inside. According to the Garrard County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Lancaster City Fire and Rescue was dispatched around 3:45 a.m. Thursday in response to a reported Mutual Aid request in the area of Richmond Road, where it was reported that a two-story building partially collapsed with two residents inside. Garrard County EMA reported that rescue units were able to confirm two residents who had been inside the structure were able to exit safely with no reported injuries, and Lancaster Fire and Rescue was reportedly able to “safely secure the scene.” According to authorities, Garrard County EMS, the Lancaster Police Department, Bluegrass 911 Communications, and multiple utility companies were reportedly able to assist with the rescue and secure the partially collapsed structure.
