Some of Walpole’s bravest were honored with a Meritorious Conduct award, during a Nov. 21 ceremony honoring the state’s top firefighters.
Governor Charlie Baker, Public Safety Secretary Daniel Bennett and State Fire Marshall Peter J. Ostroskey honored firefighters from 22 Massachusetts fire departments for performing heroic acts of bravery at the 28th annual “Firefighter of the Year” ceremony held at Worcester’s Mechanics Hall.
“The Commonwealth’s firefighters make tremendous sacrifices and risk their lives on a regular basis to protect the members of their communities,” Baker said. “We are proud to salute this year’s award recipients, who drew upon their training and experience to perform remarkable acts that saved lives.”
