As residents stock up on ice melter and ready their shovels, Dedham Fire is readying its vehicles and staff for Monday evening’s snowstorm. The storm—slated to begin at 10 or 11 tonight—is expected to drop between 10 and 18 inches on communities in the Dedham area. Fire Chief William Spillane said additional staff will be on hand once the storm hits. This isn’t done for each and every storm, however. “We don’t automatically put additional resources on for every storm,” said Spillane. “It’s a judgment call for what’s outside the norm.”
