Firefighters handle 3 vehicles on fire in New Bedford

Three vehicles were on fire early this morning at a car dealership on Pleasant Street, according to the Fire Department. At 4:44 a.m., firefighters found a full-size SUV was involved as well as two adjoining vehicles on fire in the lot. The dwelling to the south was also an exposure and sustained radiant heat damage, according to firefighters. “Engine 7 knocked down the main body of fire. A foam line was deployed for vapor suppression and nearby catch basins were diked and dammed as well. One bucket of foam was used from E-7. The Department of Environmental Protection was notified,” according to the department. No injuries were reported, and this incident is under investigation.
