As a thank you for saving her father's life after a car crash, Carling Audette, co-manager at The Village Restaurant, will host a small party for the local police officers, firefighters and EMT personnel who responded to the scene. The event will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m., in the restaurant's Shipyard Room at 55 Main St. In October, Salisbury resident Mark Audette, owner of Aztec LLC in Newburyport, was involved in a serious two-car, head-on accident on John Wise Avenue, Route, 133, near the Cape Ann Golf Club. During this time, the Audette family was negotiating with the Ricci family to purchase the Village. Mark Audette and the other driver, a 24-year-old Gloucester man, were airlifted from the crash site. The Gloucester man remains in the hospital, according to police. Mark Audette is in the care of a rehabilitation clinic in Boston.
