One local initiative continues its efforts to combat the opioid crisis throughout our region. The Hampden District Attorney’s office says since the creation of its Municipal Narcan Initiative in 2018, as of this year, they have surpassed about 2,800 doses supplied to local first responders. The Center for Human Development partnered with the DA’s office, and issued a statement that reads in part, “This investment is helping many parents, spouses, partners, daughters, and sons gain an opportunity to embark on long-term recovery and keep intact many families who otherwise might have experienced a tragic loss.”
