Two charged in connection with arson investigation in Caroline County

Two men are facing over 30 years in prison after authorities say they were arrested for intentionally setting fire to a vehicle and attempting to defraud the insurance company in Caroline County. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Tuesday, 25-year-old Samuel Moya of Denton and 22-year-old James Travers of Cambridge were arrested in connection with an arson investigation. Officials say an arson incident happened on July 1 on Clark Road in Denton. According to the report, the Denton Volunteer Fire Company responded to the the vehicle fire and they were able to quickly put it out. Investigators say they believed the fire was suspicious and they contacted the insurance company on July 23. Further investigation determined the blaze to arson.
