One person was found dead after a "residential outbuilding" caught fire in Elkton, Cecil County. The fire was found by a neighbor at 3:16 a.m. Wednesday, on Blake Road at the state line, just east of Little Elk Creek. About 30 firefighters spent 45 minutes working to control the fire, according to a notice of investigation from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. An adult victim was found dead inside the structure. No other injuries were reported. The structure apparently had no working smoke alarms. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation. Damages are estimated at $65,000.
