Montgomery County Fire officials say a heating source is the cause of a house fire that displaced two in Damascus, Maryland today.
The fire broke out on the 26,000 block of Purdum Road. 2 people were in the home at the time, And luckily there were no serious injuries reported. It took about 60 firefighters to contain the fire, and officials say there was a significant amount of damage to the house.
Chief Kelvin Thomas of Montgomery County Fire & Rescue said, “We had to call in some heavy rigging equipment to help us tear some of the house apart so we could get in safely without the fear of collapse.”
