A man was taken to Shock Trauma in critical but stable condition Wednesday night after he was struck by an ambulance while trying to cross the street in Garrison. Baltimore County police said they received a call at 8:24 p.m. for a crash involving a Garrison Fire Station ambulance. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Reisterstown Road, just before McDonogh Road. Police said the 33-year-old man was not using a crosswalk when he was crossing Reisterstown Road. Officials said the medic vehicle was returning to the station after delivering a patient to Shock Trauma when the man was hit. The ambulance was not in emergency mode -- lights were not flashing and the sirens were not on.
