The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says it is investigating a garage fire in Mardela Springs that caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
Sharptown Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 11281 San Domingo Road at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, the fire marshal said in a release.
Forty-four firefighters battled the blaze for about an hour to bring it under control.
The fire, which originated inside the garage, was discovered by a neighbor, and the fire marshal’s office said the cause is under investigation.
