The cause of a church fire in Funkstown early Wednesday morning is under investigation.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says at around 12:09 AM, 22 fire fighters responded to Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 24 East Baltimore Street, and spent 35-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was injured.
Damage is estimated at $20,000 to the structure, and $10,000 to the contents.
Investigators say he fire originated in the interior parlor room. They also says the church had working smoke alarms.
