“It’s never a dull moment here! This is one of the busier fire houses,” said Ian St. John, with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, smiling.
That statement rang true on Wednesday morning at Milestone Station 34 in Germantown.
“It would be the first time that I’ve ever had an OB occur, a woman go into labor while we’re at the car seat demo. This is sort of a new thing for me,” he said.
St. John says he’s done the car seat installations and demonstrations for years. “I started it as a side gig,” he said, as he unzipped a car seat from a bag. On Wednesday morning, he says he was just about finished a demonstration when a woman appeared to start having contractions.
